MARKETING AND PROGRAMMING ASSISTANT
Base, a nonprofit arts space committed to creative risk and experimentation through a framework of equity, seeks a part-time Marketing and Programming Assistant. The person we seek is passionate about experimental dance and performance, and eager to work in a self-directed, collaborative setting.
Within a staff structure that is cooperative and includes four other part-time employees, the Marketing and Programming Assistant will manage all social media and support the Operations and Programs Manager with Base marketing and communications. The Marketing and Programming Assistant is also responsible for house management at Base events and volunteer coordination. This is a hybrid position that involves both remote tasks and on-site support. The Marketing and Programs Assistant will be expected to attend biweekly staff meetings (currently held via Zoom).
Marketing and Programming Assistant is a part-time, hybrid position that includes remote work on a flexible schedule and work on-site at Base
This position is $25/hr and will average about five hours weekly each month
Requirements:
Knowledge of social media, including Instagram
Knowledge of platforms including Squarespace, SquareUp and Google Workspace
Demonstrated history of marketing success, especially as relates to art spaces
Experience with community relations, including artists, audience and volunteers
Familiarity with house management, especially as relates to art spaces
Demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed manner, with interest in generative and creative tasks
Brings a lens of anti-oppression and anti-racism to all aspects of professional life

Has a passion for connecting with people and community
Appreciates the importance of art and experimentation in helping society move forward through converging challenges
Understands and has had experiences within Seattle’s movement community

This position will stay open until filled, with a start date in January 2025. Online interviews of qualified candidates will be conducted with members of the Base team in early December. There may be second-round interviews with staff.
