Celebrate Coley Mixan's Base Residency at our inaugural Base Open House on November 3, 2019 3pm-5pm!
To kick off our 2019/2020 season, Seattle artist Coley Mixan will be in residency at Base for three weeks in October. Join us on November 3 from 3pm-5pm for an open house with Coley at Base!
Coley, who uses motion capture, virtual and mixed reality mediums to multiply queer bodies in motion, will work on their newest project, The Spiral Who Loved Me, a video/performance that questions the white, capitalist mythologies of Sci Fi and the American Western.
Coley's residency marks an expansion of our signature Base Residency program. For three uninterrupted weeks, Base Resident Artists dive deep into their practices, using 24/7 access to Base for development, self-challenge and experimentation. Each Base Residency culminates in an open house that offers a public vantage point on a particular stage in the creative process.
More soon on Coley Mixan and their work at Base—in the meantime, mark the afternoon of Nov. 3 on your calendar!
