LIVEWIRE is a mutlidisciplinary movement and sound lab providing participants with hands on experiences with integrated movement and sound interfaces, sound design, composition, and improvisational sound sessions. Exploring the ontological relationship of sound and body, participants are facilitated through research modules exploring theories in motion, psychoacoustics, invisible architectures, vibration, groove, texture and sensation. Participants will be introduced to electronic sound gear such as loop pedals, drum machines, and synthesizers, as well as Digital Audio Workstation Ableton Live, as a program to collect, process, remix and arrange captured sonic material. This session will invite participants to experiment with music gear and motion, closing with a discussion between slowdanger and participants to dive deeper into personal questions related to sound design and creation.
This experience is designed to serve artists interested in researching and creating music in relation to movement and technology. Participants will be hands-on, using different technologies. Because of this, there is limited capacity for this workshop.
