About the
Base Independent Program

We know that space is scarce in Seattle. Through our Base Independent program, Base is committed to making our flexible space available and scalable for independent artists and groups wishing to mount productions—whether for a night, a weekend, a week or a whole month.

Because demand for Base is high, we’ve evolved the Base Independent program in order to better respond to the growing needs of the dance and performance community. Artists can apply to the Base Independent program for specific dates and durations (see below). The Base Independent program is not a curated series; applications will be processed on a first come, first served basis. The call for 2019-2020 Base Independent applications is currently open; the deadline is May 24, 2019.
