About the
Base Residency

Since 2016, Base has awarded eight multi-week residencies to individual artists and collaborators. The aim of the program is to counter the increasing inaccessibility of affordable creative space in Seattle through gifts of unrestricted creative time at Base. Past Base Residents include Frank Boyd, Jade Solomon Curtis, Jessica Jobaris, Babette DeLafayette Pendleton, ilvs strauss, Dylan Ward, Markeith Wiley and Petra Zanki.

Base is excited to announce our first open call for the newly expanded 2019/2020 Base Residency program. Artists may apply for a three-week residency designed for an immersive creative experience with full-time access to the space and a range of other benefits. See below for details and visit our FAQ page. We welcome all to apply. Submit an application here.

The application deadline is Feb. 28, 2019; late submissions will not be considered. Residencies will be announced in spring 2019.
